The Secondary Schools Admission Test (SSAT) is a requirement for admission to most private schools. Mark the test dates on your calendar and begin preparing if you're planning to apply to a prep school.

The test provides school admission offices with a picture of the prospective student's current reasoning and writing abilities. As with all tests, students benefit from preparation. It's a good idea to take an SSAT preparation course and work through and SSAT practice book before taking the test. You should also read our list of SSAT test strategies that were provided to AdmissionsQuest by our friends at Summit Educational Group.

Below is the 2011-2012 SSAT regular administration schedule. Families may also arrange to take the SSAT Flex Test- a scheduled flexible administration conducted by an SSAT member school or qualified educational consultant. AQ Educational Consulting's Marylou Marcus offers the Flext Test. You can contact Marylou Marcus to see about coordinating the exam.
