An Educational Consultant’s Impressions of Middlesex School

A truly beautiful campus in Concord, Massachusetts, Middlesex School centers around an open quad with beautiful brick buildings. I was fortunate to visit on an inviting, snow covered day (not the pleasant summer shot to the right).
It’s exam week and I saw countless student groups studying together.
The library seemed full to capacity. Informal [...]

Mrs. Richardson, do I get points for trying Marmite?

I have been thinking a lot, lately, about the value of trying new things. In my capacity as Director of the International and ESL programs at Kents Hill, I am constantly amazed at the myriad encounters that my ESL and international students have with new things, each and every day. They are bombarded [...]

Getting to Know Dublin School

Community. Force me to chose a single word to describe Dublin School, I’d say ‘Community’ ranks #1 on my list.
Students & faculty talked about it with great passion during my campus visit last year and Sheila Bogan, Dublin’s Director of Admission, reinforced why the school’s small boarding community makes Dublin a special place in our [...]

An Educational Consultant Visits Phillips Exeter Academy

Phillips Exeter Academy is a place where students come to learn about learning. I got a real sense of community in a large college-like setting. Students hustling to classes on their bikes; students running to sports; students in classes were fully engaged around Harkness tables. Each student is expected to play an important [...]

A Tour of Tabor Academy

Nothing like the perspective of a current student to get to know a school.
Debby, a four year Tabor Academy student, took me on a tour and was kind enough to let me bring along my flip to capture each location on film.
She did a terrific job introducing me to campus, answering my questions and painting [...]
