Tabor Academy Football Player Saved by Apple Watch

Tabor Academy senior Paul Houle thought football practice might have gotten the best of him last week when he experienced chest pains after practice.

But, his Apple Watch was reporting his resting heart rate as 145 beats per minute. Houle knew something was amiss and sought the trainer. The trainer thought be watch was amiss- at first.

But, no. Houle’s heart rate was elevated; it was time to head to the emergency room where doctors diagnosed Houle with rhabdomyolysis. Houle is expected to recover fully and play part of this season.

Houle also received a call and an internship offer from Apple CEO Tim Cook.
