Hotchkiss Film Festival 2014: Opportunity for High School Filmmakers

Hotchkiss Film Festival 2014 is the third year of the festival dedicated exclusively to high school filmmakers. This year’s Festival is scheduled for Friday evening May 16th, 2014. Past Festival events and entries are on the website.

A short film competition, “The Film Festival Competition is open to all high school students who currently represent their respective schools, but the festival is open to everyone who wishes to join the celebration.”

The Festival’s early submission date has passed. Regular submission is still open:

Regular Submission: By March 31st – $15 per film
Final Deadline: By April 20th – $20 per film

Between eight and ten films will chosen for screening. “All films will go through a preliminary round of judging for quality control. A selection of 8 to 10 films will be shown for the judges and live audience on the night of the festival. Other noteworthy films that do not make the cut may receive an Honorable Mention certificate.”

Filmmakers may enter as submit as many films as they like. The Festival is looking to build “a diverse and unique collection for the festival.”

A product of both private and public education, Brian Fisher served as a teacher, coach, dorm parent, and administrator at three different boarding schools. Brian also fills the role of Director of Development at Wolfeboro, The Summer Boarding School, in NH along with being a partner at AdmissionsQuest.
