This past Saturday, Kents Hill School trustees removed his interim title and elected Patrick C. McInerney as Head of School. McInerney and his family have been members of the Kents Hill community for 21 years.
McInerney received a standing ovation when introduced as head at Saturday’s morning meeting.
“I am honored to lead our school forward from this, our 190th year. When we arrived 21 years ago Cindy and I knew we had landed in a very special place. The progress we have witnessed in all aspects of school life in the last two decades has been monumental. I am thrilled to be looking ahead with such a talented and dedicated group of educators, trustees, staff, students and alumni.” Mr. McInerney said.
Steve P. Akin, board of trustees president commented of the search process, “After a thorough process including research, extensive outreach and consideration of feedback (both solicited and unsolicited) from faculty, parents, and friends of the school, the search committee determined that the best candidate was in front of them.”
One of McInerney’s primary charges will be the development of a strategic plan to guide Kents HIll’s future growth.
