Riverside Military Academy Cadets Receive Congressional Nominations

Riverside Military Academy cadets, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel (C/LTC) Harrison Summerour and Cadet Captain (C/CPT) Jacob M. Deem received their respective congressional nominations to the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) and U.S. Military Academy - West Point (USMA) last week.
Deem and Summerour received their appointments as their congressman’s Congressmen’s Principle Nominee (1st choice.)
Each cadet received a congratulatory call from his congressman; Summerour from Congressman Doug Collins (9th District, Georgia); Deem from Congressman Jack Kingston (1st District, Georgia).

Summerour and Deem are both boarding cadets at Riverside. C/LTC Summerour serves as the Battalion Commander for 450 young men in the Corps of Cadets. C/CPT Deem serves as commander of Alpha Company at RMA.

Both cadets participated in summer leadership experiences. Summerour attended the United States Naval Academy (USNA) Summer Seminar in Maryland and a USAFA program in Colorado during June and July. Deem participated in the American Legion Georgia Boys State program and the Boys Nation program held in Washington, D.C. He was one of only two peer-elected State Senators who represented Georgia at Boys Nation.
