Tommy Adams, Mercersburg Academy Assistant Head of School for Enrollment is the newly announced Director of The Essex Institute for Independent School Enrollment Management.

Adams takes over as the 29 year old Institute's first non-founding director with the passing of co-founder David Erdmann and co-founder Rick Dalton's decision that the time is right for new leadership.

“Although I am deeply saddened by the passing of my fellow Essex Institute co-founder and dearest friend, David Erdmann, I am comforted to know that The Essex Institute will continue to thrive and grow in the capable hands of its new director, Tommy Adams and his team,” says Dalton.

Adams is long-time Essex Fellow and twenty year veteran of independent school admission.

“I am honored and thrilled to be chosen to direct The Essex Institute...with the challenges of the independent school admission field continuing to grow, it is important to provide a forum where admission professionals can gather to broaden their knowledge of enrollment management and to develop a more strategic mindset,” Adams says of his appointment

A little background: founded in 1985, The Essex Institute, is an annual four-day, held in Essex, NY, for independent school enrollment managers featuring workshops, presentations, discussion, and collaboration.
