The 2013 Round Square International Conference brings more than 700 students from around the globe to St. Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, FL this week.
Titled “Waves of Change” this year’s conference “challenges young people to enact positive change in their communities and around the world.” Activities, speakers and presenters will challenge students to consider, and answer, “How will you help set Waves of Change in motion?”
“The goal is to get young adults in one place and teach them how to be better leaders and servants to the world,” St. Andrew’s student Kaitrine Assaf told WPTV.
More than sitting in lecture halls and meeting rooms, student attendees will get out into the Boca Raton community to practice service stewardship through beach clean-ups, non-native plant removal, and working with Habitat for Humanity.
Hosting the conference is an honor for St. Andrew’s. Round Square is consortium of more than 100 schools on five continents that works to bring together and bind young people the world over through six ideals- Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service.
