Dunn’s program is shaped by skill development rather than integration by only theme or content.
In this integration of history and english classes, students come together over major writing assignments. Guided and directed by their teachers, students learn to work with sources and translate the thinking into papers though the writing process.
The program’s unique grading scale emphasizes and teaches the importance of process. Using a grading scale of “A, B, C, or Not Yet,” allows faculty to communicate that the piece isn’t done to the best a student’s ability and that it requires more work.
