A Guided Tour of Army and Navy Academy

Army and Navy Academy (a boys military boarding school in Carlsbad, CA)¬†cadets Matt, Tyler, and David share their experiences introducing viewers to the academy. Whether it’s academics, residential life or college counseling, two statements (resounding endorsements) from the tour capture the Army and Navy ¬†experience:

“The biggest advantage is the support here [Army and Navy]…The teachers here are really dedicated…Some of them almost become second parents to you.”

“[Army and Navy] Helped me to help myself turn around.”

Each of these students has grown immensely during his Army and Navy experience which is a structured, total experience.

Academics are great, but it’s the residential life program that provides the structure and necessary foundation for academic success. Students prepare, order, and are accountable for their schedules and living space- taking care of all the daily preparations that contribute to academic success. Students are busy from 6 AM to 10:30 PM with classes, tutorial time, sports, and study hall with some breaks in between.

Academics feature a dedicated, appreciated faculty, small classes, and accountability. Each student tells a story of how, and why, he’s improved while at the academy. College counseling is “great.”

Students can take advantage of Carlsbad when free and the school uses its Pacific Ocean setting regularly. Boys can surf and there’s a barbecue on the beach every Wednesday.

Why is Army and Navy a great place to go to school? It changes students’ lives. Students learn independence and personal responsibility.

“Something happened to me…it’s up to me.”
