Working in Boarding Schools Runs in the Family
One of those small world connections over the weekend- last week we published my video tour of Wyoming Seminary with associate admission director Kevin Blaum.
He spoke modestly about his accomplished, Sem alumnae, daughters. Today, I get to highlight one daughter, Caroline Blaum. She was the subject of an article at Examiner.com (Oldfields Builds Field Hockey Program, with Addition of Nationally-known Coach) last Friday.
She’s a highly accomplished field hockey player- four-year team captain, at Iowa, two years on the US Women’s National Field Hockey Team, and recipient of multiple awards- has taken on the challenge of building and strengthening field hockey at Oldfields School.
For Blaum coaching in the high school ranks is about giving back and understanding the fundamentals of the game that helped make her so successful.
“I have had the opportunity to work with some of the greatest field hockey minds in the world…but it is my own high school and college experiences that have lead me to where I am today.”
