Northfield Mount Hermon School Sells Northfield Campus
After consolidating campuses two campuses into one in 2005, Northfield Mount Hermon School announced the sale of its dormant Northfied campus to Hobby Lobby. The deal closed this past Monday.
“…Our transaction with Hobby Lobby, an Oklahoma City-based corporation with a commitment to supporting Christian missions, closed on December 14, 2009.
Hobby Lobby intends to facilitate the establishment of C.S. Lewis College, a Great Books college, on the Northfield campus, giving it a new and purposeful life…” (NMH’s announcement)
The 2005 campus consolidation tightened NMH’s student body from 1100 to 600. The sale should allow NMH to look confidently toward the future. Northfield Mount Hermon’s trustees appear prescient in their thinking and planning.
Update: NMH published the video of their press conference to their Youtube channel. It provides additional information about the transfer of the campus to Hobby Lobby:

You should fix your headline. As the article states, they sold the Northfield campus.
Hi, I think your headline is incorrect. The Mount Hermon campus isn't the one that was sold. NMH is keeping Mount Hermon campus as a functioning school. The Northfield campus is the one that is going to become a new college.
Thanks for the heads up on the headline. We corrected the typo – appreciate the feedback.
I actually spent the afternoon on campus- what a fantastic spot. I was extremely impressed by the school and its offerings.
The photo is of the Mount Hermon campus – the one that's not being sold. Known as the less pretty campus.
also false, that picture is of the northfield campus….100% sure since i go there
Either way it isn't Northfield Mount Hermon any more. Just a Mount Hermon.
