Bath Shout: Student Produced Podcasts Capture Hyde School (Bath, ME) Campus Vibe

Nicolas Figueroa, a senior from Spain, hosts “Bath Shout,” periodic podcasts covering current happenings and life on Hyde School‘s Bath, ME campus. The tone and organization of “Bath Shout” nicely captures all of the different things happening simultaneously at Hyde.

At school, things don’t happen one event at time. So many events overlap; kids and faculty have to change gears. The unscripted commentary and organization based simply on what’s happening at school when he records give “Bath Shout” a documentary, as opposed to a promotional, feel. Nice work.

Nic visits with Matt Newberg, performing arts director, as he covers audition season. Uniquely Hyde, everyone in school sings solo before everyone else. “Know Yourself. Be Yourself” is a workshop that brings Hyde philosophy and activities to schools working to build character culture. Hyde students participate in bringing Hyde experiences to younger students (see: Rangeley Lakes Middle School experiences the Know Yourself / Be Yourself Program). And, Dexter Jenks sings an original song and plays the ukulele.
