Wolfeboro, The Summer Board School Centennial Celebration- a photo gallery
Wolfeboro, The Summer Boarding School held its centennial celebration back in August after school closed.
The weekend actually marked two events- the school’s centennial summer and former head Bill Cooper’s 8oth birthday. It was one of those great experiences in which, not only is an occasion being marked, but you get to marvel at the intergenerational connectedness of the place- families with generations of teachers, students who’ve returned to teach, faculty with tenures that make you marvel.
The details- names, faces, hearing from people present at the ‘birth,’ how the school has grown and evolved since becoming independent in 1977 added to rich fabric and weekend. The faculty longevity is really something. I’ve been there 22 summers- fewer than an astonishing number of my colleagues.
