Atlanta Area Schools Go Green

go-greenThe Atlanta Journal Constitution published “Some local schools going greener“,  highlighting the ways in which three Atlanta area schools, Gwinnett County, Arabia Mountain High School, and Greater Atlanta Christian School are making environmental commitments.

The commitment extends beyond green design and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified design into the daily life and curricula.

At Arabia Mountain environmental education “will be integrated in every subject this year in 9th, 10th and 11th grades.” (AJC)

Arabia Mountain Principal told the AJC: “Our students need to be ready for green careers … and a green economy…Just imagine how marketable they will be if they have this background.”

The schools seem to be doing a nice job of making their green commitment and decisions from the ground up. Being green isn’t the result a of few decisions; it’s a way of thinking, planning and living.
