Perkiomen Students Help Establish African Libraries

LibraaryPerkiomen School middle school students collected books during May in their efforts to help establish libraries in Swaziland.  Working with The African Library Project, PERK students packed and shipped 2,500 books to Swaziland where every 1,000 books create a working library.

Perkiomen Headmaster Christopher Thompkins told The Mercury News (Perkiomen School establishes library … in Africa):

“We are thrilled about this project because of what libraries can do in developing countries….Libraries can really serve as a great educational equalizer. Providing access to books gives each child a chance to learn and grow.”
