Well I'll say right now that I'm attending a public school, and well I am taking part in student council, clubs, what not, along with classes... and I have to say I love my school...

Its a question of opinions, maybe your son sees his current situation as good... Although it could be better but I wouldn't stress sending him to a boarding school because if he's against it... Well then he will not have fun high school years to look forward to.

Your pointb of view is reassuring. My son is finishing 9th grade in a great public school and is doing superbly academically. The problem is that his personal development is lagging despite our urgings to get involved. The downside of even the best public school is that a student will not get any support if they are doing well. The schools don't care or don't have the resources to help in this way. We have been discussing boarding school with him but he is dramaticaaly opposed to the idea. He is a kid who doesn't like change and is not a risk taker. We feel he needs to get out of this box. How can we convinve him to look at this option seriously and to understand what boarding school has to offer.
