Recent Purnell Graduate Wins Essay Award
Anna Fasano ('09) recently received third place honors in the 170 Years Provident Bank Anniversary Essay Contest.Purnell English students were asked to write either on who was the most influential president or the most significant invention of the last 170 Years. Ms. Fasano, as an assignment in her Purnell Creative Writing class, wrote a clever response claiming the paper clip as the most praiseworthy invention for its longevity and convenience. The judges remarked how they particularly enjoyed her line expounding on the paper clip's versatility: "it can bind papers without the commitment", she humorously wrote.
Ms. Fasano received a $50 savings bond for her winning entry.
