Purnell School To Be Featured On The Discovery Channel

An award-winning, long-standing television program, The Profiles Series is dedicated to showcasing the most important issues of the day. From business and technology stories to breakthroughs in medicine, topics also cover the current issues of today, and now include education.

Purnell School was selected as only one of four organizations from across the nation to be featured by The Profiles Series on the Discovery Channel. As part of a special edition half-hour program on educational institutions that exemplify the best in Education in the 21st Century, Purnell was the only all-girls boarding school and the only school in New Jersey to receive this distinction.

As Ayanna Hill-Gill, Purnell's Head of School, stated, "Today we prepare girls for the 21st Century really focusing on four different types of skills: communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking." This series highlights Purnell's mission to teach young women to be lifelong learners with the ability to use these essential skills.

The show featuring our story will air on the Discovery Channel, Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 7:00 a.m. (EST and PST). Check your local listings for the channel number and tune in to Discovery Channel (DSC) to watch this program hosted by Lou Gossett, Jr.
