AdmissionsQuest school reviews function as a legitimate resource for families and students researching independent schools. Posting a review is limited to students and parents/guardians who attended or had a student attend the school within the last three years. Our goal is to have reviews provide feeling and insight into the school experience. Each reviewer is limited to one post at each school.

To insure appropriate tone and content, we require each author to adhere to the following guidelines:

Be:

Honest
Thoughtful
Consider the review questions
Appropriate in tone; criticism is appropriate; bashing and ranting is not
Limit your review to only your experience
Well written with good spelling and punctuation

Avoid:

Personal Attack
Institutional Disparagement
Opinion presented at fact
Any false information
Using or disclosing your personal information

Examples of inappropriate comments include but are not limited to any writing that seems libelous, defamatory, indecent, vulgar or obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit or sexually suggestive, racially, culturally, or ethnically offensive, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, objectionable, discriminatory, or abusive, or which may or may appear to impersonate anyone else.

AdmissionsQuest will not post any statement containing a threat of violence against a person or any other remark that would tend to be seen as intimidating or intends to harm someone. AdmissionsQuest maintains final editorial control over all submitted reviews. Reviews must evince appropriate tone and content. All submissions become the property of AdmissionsQuest which reserves the right to determine publication.

History

On the banks of the Rappahannock River, St. Margaret's historic campus is home to our welcoming, inclusive community of nearly 120 girls from across the United States and around the world.

Founded in the Episcopal tradition nearly 100 years ago, St. Margaret’s raises and educates girls to develop their strengths in every aspect of life, academically, physically, spiritually and emotionally.

St. Margaret's prepares girls for success in college and beyond by fostering lifelong intellectual curiosity and promoting strong learning skills. Because we all learn differently, students are encouraged to develop their individual strengths and build study skills through small classes and individual attention. We tailor our curriculum to how a girl learns best, which builds her self-confidence, and results in superior academic performance. The academic structure is flexible, readiness-based rather than grade-based, and supports the three-tiered English as a Second Language program.

All students are given the support and encouragement they need to work to their greatest potential in an appropriately challenging program of studies. We put a great emphasis on STEM, which creates heightened career aspirations for many girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our River Program helps girls learn about science in everyday life, emphasizing an appreciation for our natural environment, and offers many opportunities for exploration and service learning. And, our Visual and Performing Arts programs engage girls in creative learning and expression.

St. Margaret's girls learn to become creative, independent thinkers. They find their passions here and reach their potential.
