Notes

Because of its small size and supportive environment, HCS is an especially good choice for very bright elementary and middle school boys who have had serious difficulty in larger, socially complex schools, including boys with such diagnoses as nonverbal learning disorder, Asperger's syndrome, or ADHD. It is not appropriate for students who have experimented with alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs. Students may continue into or through high school, but the usual entry ages is 8 to 12 years old.

Considering Financial Aid?

Schools administer their financial aid individually. The keys to seeking financial aid are:

  1. Planning, including dedicating time to sit-down and work through the paperwork and process
  2. Communicating with the admission and financial aid officers at the school
  3. Completing the paperwork and forms early and accurately (forms and paperwork can differ between schools)
  4. Meeting the financial aid deadline (it's early).
