History
Since 1910, Garrison Forest School has balanced high academic standards with a welcoming atmosphere that empowers girls to realize their full potential and to live lives of purpose. The college preparatory program provides 14 Advanced Placement courses in every discipline and a rich fine and performing arts curricula. Dedicated faculty creates a classroom environment focused on personal achievement and collaboration. Innovations include semester-long lab mentorships through our distinctive Women in Science and Engineering partnership with Johns Hopkins University, school-sponsored options for global service and learning, and 1:1 Tablet PC program for grades 4-12, as well as Upper School Robotics and Animation electives.
Our diverse student body from five countries, seven United States, and across the Baltimore region creates a vibrant regional (five-day), national, and international boarding program. We offer extensive co-curricular options, an active chaperoned weekend activities program, and interscholastic athletics in 14 sports with 44 teams, including nationally ranked riding and polo teams. The 110-acre, park-like campus includes academic, arts, and residential buildings, grass and turf fields, and university-level riding facilities and athletic center.
