History of the School

Shattuck-St. Mary's School is a college preparatory co-educational boarding and day school in Faribault, Minnesota for students in grades 6-12. Established in 1858, Shattuck-St. Mary's takes pride in its long tradition of guiding students to be strong in character, mind, body and spirit. Located just 45 miles south of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, our historic 250-acre campus brings together a diverse population representing the cultures and heritages of students from 34 states and 22 countries. We offer the chance to pair the solid foundation of challenging and motivating academics with focused opportunities in athletics and the arts. We call this the “& Experience” and it is at the heart of what makes Shattuck-St. Mary's so unique. Beyond Shattuck-St. Mary's Arch, our graduates go on to excel at the nation’s premier colleges and universities.
