Christ School History
| Christ School was founded in 1900 as a mission school for the children in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Both boys and girls attended, the majority as day students. Since State opened a public school and provided transportation for the children of the neighborhood in 1928, there was no longer the need for a "missionary" type school in this area. From that time, Christ School has devoted itself to the preparation of boys for college. The school is still related to the Episcopal Church, although it is self-supporting. There have always been a resident Chaplain and regular Chapel services. |
