PROGRAM~College
preparation, athletics, and jobs
Since 1932, Midland School has offered
a compelling curriculum rich in academics, community, and responsibility.
Courseloads prepare students for the finest colleges in the country.
Students participate in a variety of athletic programs, and the student-run
job system teaches leadership, self-reliance, and interdependence.
All on 2,860 acres.
PEOPLE~Well-rounded,
diverse, and hard-working
91 students form an authentic community of scholars,
explorers, athletes, artists, citizens, and leaders. Midland enrolls
a diverse student body of motivated and well-grounded young people.
The 20 faculty members and their families offer guidance, challenges,
and support to create a healthy, stimulating environment where everyone
belongs.
PLACE~Rustic,
unadorned, and connected
Set on a stunning and pristine ranch in Santa Barbara County, students
use Midland's property academically and recreationally. Classes take
place in and out of doors. Students live in redwood cabins. Our emphasis
on living simply and sustainably demands that we all take seriously
our role in the natural world. And have fun in it!
